First introduced in 1935 by Murano based glassworks Barovier & Toso, the 'Crepuscolo' technique consists of transparent glass objects featuring dark colouring. This is achieved with the technique of colouring the glass without melting it. In this case, iron wool would be immersed into incandescent glass, where it burnt leaving brownish/blackish coloured ashes.
