Anglepoise table lamp, Model No. 1227, 1935

Body shape in aluminium and square base in chrome-plated metal.

Designed in 1932 and manufactured in 1935 in the U.K.

The idea of this work lamp is inspired by the muscular movement and tension of human beings. The springs are made in such a way that they balance the weight of the lamp so that it can rotate according to multiple angles. It was a remarkable invention back then and acted as a great source of inspiration for the design of several modern lamps.
